Community Involvement
In Spring 2011, Sigmas participated in a Pen Pal Program with local middle school students. After a semester's worth of letters, pen pals were able to meet at the middle school's health fair.
Project Linus is a organization to provide love and a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. The Alpha Theta chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma volunteers every winter as "blanketeers" to make new, handmade blankets for those children in need.
Campus Involvement
Sigmas volunteer to help with Freshman Move-In every year. This gives the chance to welcome new students and make them feel comfortable. This year, sisters helped around 2,100 students!
Sigma Sigma Sigma participates in Derby Days hosted by Sigma Chi each fall. This is a variety of events that all sororities on campus participate in to compete with each other in activites such as house tours, a talent show, a dance competition, and an obstacle course/ relay race.
During the spring, Sigma Sigma Sigma participates in Greek Week hosted by RU's Panhellenic Council. This is very similiar to Derby Days were you compete in a variety of events such as house tours, talent show, dance competiton, some type of sports event and a t-shirt day.
